Nokia has officially announced the release date for its new gadget Lumia 900. The complete details of Nokia Lumia 900 are given below.
We had already expected 2012 to be a great year for the Nokia-Windows Phone partnership, and Nokia has proved this to be true. Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop, has announced about their much anticipated Windows Phone flagship, Nokia Lumia 900, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Nokia Lumia 900 seems to be continuing the streak of the Lumia series by following the design and specifications of the earlier models of the Lumia Series. Nokia believes that this is the first Windows Smartphone which is specially built taking into consideration the needs of their US market. This is pretty much true owing to the fact that Nokia Lumia 900 would be the first Windows Phone to support the LTE network.
The core specifications of the phone were revealed at CES, without mentioning anything about the release date or the price of the phone. The phone will run the latest Windows Phone OS 7.5 Commercial Release 2 (Mango +LTE). It will be made with a polycarbonate unibody with the sharp edge sort of design adopted by Nokia recently.
The phone has a 4.3 inch AMOLED 800×480 Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen with Nokia’s ClearBlack technology. It will be powered by a single-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm APQ8055+MDM9200 bundle coupled with a half GB of RAM. The phone has inbuilt memory of 16 GB out of which 14.5 would be user accessible. There might be few other memory options also available at the time of launch. The phone will have no memory expansion capabilities, but it will have access to Microsoft’s Windows Live Skydrive storage.
It will have the same camera we saw in the Lumia 800, that is, an 8MP camera with a 28mm f/2.2 Carl Zeiss lens with dual-LED flash plus an additional 1MP front facing f/2.4 wide angle lens camera. The back camera will have 720p HD recording capabilities. Another great feature is the inclusion of an 1840mAH battery which promises 7 hours talk time and a 300hours standby time.
The connectivity features include Quad Band GSM and CDMA capability and LTE Band 4. Wifi 802.11B/g/n, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, USB 2.0 connectivity is also available. The phone requires a micro SIM card for operation. Apart from this, Lumia 900 has a gyroscope sensor, proximity sensor, magnetometer sensor, a 3D accelerometer sensor and an ambient light sensor to make the UI much more interactive. You can also use it as a WiFi hotspot using the WiFi tethering.
It will also be a very good choice for business persons owing to the fact that it can seamlessly integrate with all of your email account and also has excellent document viewing and editing capabilities. Stephen Elop also said that Nokia is very “aggressive” about this phone. Apart from announcing this phone, Stephen Elop also confirmed that they had no plans for coming up with an Android phone.
