What you will need
In order to view your photos as a slideshow, you must have a photo viewing program installed on your device. Many computers come with a pre-installed basic photo viewing program. The Windows Photo Viewer program will be used for this guide. If your computer does not have a photo viewing program, there are plenty of free options that can be downloaded from the internet. Once you have a photo viewing program installed, create a new folder on your desktop. This folder can be named anything you want; for this guide, we will name it “My Slideshow.”
After you create the folder, open it and find the pictures you want to use in your slideshow. To select multiple photos at once, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on each photo you want to include. Once all the desired photos are selected, click and drag them into the “My Slideshow” folder.
After all of the photos are in the folder, open the photo viewing program you installed earlier. In Windows Photo Viewer, select “File” > “Open.” Find the “My Slideshow” folder on your computer desktop and double-click it to open it.
All of the photos in thefolder should now be visible in the photo viewer window. To watch them as a slideshow, select “Slideshow” > “Play” in the upper-left corner of the window. The first photo in the folder will show up on your screen full-size. You can press the left or right arrow keys on your keyboard to go to the next or previous photo in the slideshow respectively. You can press the Esc key on your keyboard at any time to exit out ofthe slideshow.

- To begin, click the Start button, then click Computer.
- Click the drive containing your pictures twice (for example, Local Disk (C:)).
- Open the folder containing your pictures by double-clicking it.
Step 2: Select all of the images in the folder
You can select all of the images in a folder by pressing and holding the “Ctrl” key while clicking on each image File one at a time. Alternatively, you can click on the first image File, press and hold the “Shift” key, and then click on the last image File. All of the images in between will be selected this way.
Step 3: Right-click on one of the selected images
The drop-down menu will appear once you scroll down. Hover over the “Slideshow” option to continue.
Step 4: Click on the “Slideshow” option
In the Folder Options window, click on the View tab. Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the “Play slide show in following folders” section. There are three different options to choose from. The first option will start the slideshow as soon as you enter the folder. The second option will start the slideshow only when you click on the first image in the folder. The last option won’t start a slideshow at all.
Step 5: Enjoy the slideshow!
Now that you have your photo folder set up as a slideshow, enjoy the show! Your computer will automatically progress to the next picture at the interval you chose, so all you need to do is sit back and relax. If you ever want to change the interval or stop the slideshow, simply right-click on the folder and modify your settings.
