$115 MILLION FUNDING FOR METAL PRINTING FIRM DESKTOP METAL

Desktop Metal is a 3D metal printing firm with clients such as BMW and Caterpillar. The company is receiving series D funding round of $115 million. The company is unique in the sense that its technology is able to print 100 times faster than its competitor. Speed is the bottleneck of the 3D printing industry. Desktop Metal is still a small firm of 150 engineers.

Amazon has launched Instagram like feature for its products. Now Amazon will feature its products with pictures like that on social media. The consumer with the help of Spark will be able to add up to 5 interests such as books, TV Titles, recipes etc and will receive feeds on that basis in form of pictures and reviews.

Uber is under yet another lawsuit. This time it is its harmful practices against the disabled. The plaintiffs have complained that Uber provides only .1 percent of its fleet for the disabled. The company is held violating the Title 3 of the American Disability Act.

CHINA CLAMPS DOWN ON WHATSAPP

China has partially banned the Whatsapp messaging app in the country. The users cannot send photo or video through chatting for now. However, some users are not able to send text either. Some believe that due to strict censorship laws country will soon ban Facebook messaging as well.

 INCREDIBLE INDIA DEBUTS SOLAR TRAINS!

India has the Asia’s largest network of rail with millions of people using it every day. Now Indian rail has achieved another feat by launching the first solar-powered train. It will save up to $6 billion in bills for the railways. The solar-powered units are called ‘Diesel Electric Multiple Unit’. The train will be pulled by the diesel engine, however, the electronic items meant for passenger comfort such as fans, lights, charging ports etc. will run from solar-powered cells mounted on top of the train.
