Dairy IOT Startup Stellapps plans to soon start selling cattle nutrition products. Trouw Nutrition is a subsidiary company of American nutrition food manufacturer Nutreco. Trouw Nutrition’s Indian head office is based in Hyderabad, Telangana.

This is probably for the first time that Stellapps will deviate from its flagship business of making IOT solutions for dairy industry.

Stellapps has already altered its memorandum of association for including engagement in ‘purchase & sale of animal nutrition products’ as one of the objectives of the company.

The Bengaluru-based company has mentioned in its ROC filings that partnership with Trouw will help it in participating in certain cooperative dairies and government tenders. This in-turn will help the company to facilitate its future growth, the company said in the filing.

However, details are still hazy as to how company plans to go about selling animal nutrition products. Will it launch dedicated app or use offline route to sell its products.

Founded in 2011, Stellapps is a dairy focused IOT startup that aims to maximize the productivity and profitability of dairy companies. Till date, the company has launched products across the board catering to critical areas like milk procurement, cattle monitoring, cold chain management etc.

It is also one of the most well-funded startups in the dairy IOT space. It counts Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Qualcomm Ventures, Blume Ventures, Omnivore among other high-profile investors.

The startup’s revenue in FY20 stood at approximately INR 40 Cr in Fy20, a quantum decline from nearly 55 Cr revenue it earned in Fy19.

According to Crunchbase, the company has till date raised $18.8 Mn through multiple funding round. Its last funding was a debt funding from Stride Ventures.
