Meta may soon launch AI Chatbot with personas to boost engagement
Meta is reportedly preparing to launch a range of AI-powered chatbots that exhibit different personalities as early as next month itself. Meta’s engineers are currently designing the prototype of this chatbot that will not only engage in humanlike conversation but will also emulate different personalities. These different personalities could be a travel agent, surfer and even a famous historical figure like Abraham Lincon. Meta hopes that the chatbots will be more engaging than traditional chatbots, and will help to keep users coming back to its platforms. However, this chatbot is still in development stage and hence it is unclear whether this unique chatbot will help Meta in boosting its engagement rate or not.

X Corp, the parent company of Twitter, has filed a lawsuit against the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) over its recent research on hate speech. The lawsuit accuses CCDH of illegally scrapping the data from Twitter and used it to create a distorted report. Twitter has further alleged that CCDH used third party software tools to gain unauthorized access to Twitter’s data. The CCDH is an anti-hate organization that publishes research about the spread of hateful content on popular social media platforms like Twitter. Hate speech on Twitter and its ability to influence elections around the world has always been a controversial topic.

Popular dating app Tinder is planning to launch a new premium membership plan, as well as new AI features and other changes to the app. The new premium plan will be reportedly called ‘Tinder Platinum’ and will offer slew of exciting features including the ability to see who has already swiped right on them, the ability to “rewind” a swipe, and send messages to users who haven’t swiped right on them yet. Additionally, a new AI feature will help tinder users in receiving more accurate suggestions based on interests and preferences and also filter matches based on location and other preferences.

Binance Nearly liquidated its U.S. Exchange to Protect Global Operations
According to the news portal The Information, Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, nearly shut down its U.S. exchange in 2019 in order to protect its global operations. The exchange was facing regulatory scrutiny from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said that he feared that if the exchange continued to operate in the U.S., it could jeopardize its operations in other countries. Although Binance managed to survive the near shutdown, it still continues to face regulatory challenges in several countries. Binance’s continuous faceoff with regulators is a reminder of the challenges that cryptocurrency exchanges face in complying with regulations around the world.
