How much can a one phone call really cost you? Well, it can cost you a lucrative job in one of the fast growing and unicorn startups of India. This is Ashneer Grover for you. A man who has been at the center of the controversy ever since his controversial phone call to the Kotak Bank executive got leaked on Twitter.
Grover would have been more than glad if he would have been roughed up and trolled by the Twitter community and the controversy would have slowly died down. But to his dismay, the controversy has taken a life of its own and has snowballed into a major fire that Grover is struggling to douse down.
The fire has only got more intense for Grover as now rumors of his possible exit from Bharatpe have been swelling up since past few days. A leading news organization has reported that Bharatpe’s co-founder and MD has hired a reputed law firm based in New Delhi.
The law firm will supposedly help Grover to deal with all the possible outcomes including his unceremonious exit from BharatPe. Adding more twist to this controversy is the fact that the news of possible fraudulent transactions in Bahartpe have started emerging. If there is any truth in this news then this will make things more complicated and tough for Grover.
if the grapevines are to be believed then Grover has hired the Delhi based firm to keep his stake intact in the company if he were to be fired. As per reports, he currently owns 9% stake in the company.
Whether Grover will be fired or not, we’ll come to know in a month or two. This is because Grover is currently on a volunteer leave. By his own admission, he will be join the company on 1st April.
