TikTok has announced that its head of US trust and safety, Eric Han, is all set leave the company. Han, who joined TikTok in 2019, was the go-to man in addressing data security concerns in the U.S. He was mainly responsible for improving content moderation and minimizing misinformation during elections. Han’s resignation will come as a setback as it fights multiple challenges including the possible ban in the U.S. TikTok has not only been called out in the U.S. but also several in other countries for its allegedly unethical data privacy practices. The popular Chinse short video app, on other hand, has outrightly denied these allegations.

Video messaging app Snapchat has said that it will introduce ads in its AI powered chatbot ‘My AI,’ which was launched to public only few weeks back. Snap’s swift decision to launch ads into its AI chatbot has been apparently done to bolster its ad revenue. However, these ads will be initially run as at a beta testing level. Simultaneously, Snap will roll out ads in its TikTok clone feature Spotlight on a full-scale basis. Snap claims that Spotlight, which rewards creators for short-videos, has more than 350 monthly users. Increasing ad revenue is critical for Snap as its stock has been under pressure due to weak forecast given by the company.

WordPress becomes latest company to Drop Twitter Over API Price

World’s leading website CMS platform WordPress announced on Tuesday that it is ending Twitter auto-sharing feature on its platform due to Twitter’s recent decision to steeply hike its API prices. With this move, it will become harder for WordPress bloggers and WordPress website owners to share their content & post on Twitter. WordPress now joins big companies like Microsoft and Intercom that have also cut API ties with Twitter. Ending free access to Twitter’s API was among the many controversial decisions taken by Elon Musk since he took over the microblogging company last year. Meanwhile, in latest development Twitter has restored free API services to only government and public bodies.

LinkedIn is beta testing a new AI feature that is exclusively designed for job hunters. This generative AI feature will write messages including brief and cover-letter like messages on behalf of job seekers. These messages will be then duly sent to hiring managers. LinkedIn said its AI tool will extract information from the job hunter as well as hiring manager’s profile before writing the message. This feature will be available only to LinkedIn’s premium users.
