In a shocking development, Priya Bansal –wife of Sachin Bansal – has filed a dowry harassment case in a local police station in Bengaluru against his spouse.
According to reports, Priya Bansal filed the first information report (FIR) on 28 February at Koramangla police station in Bengaluru against Sachin Bansal and his family members including his father, bother and mother.
In the FIR, Priya has accused her spouse of pressurizing her to transfer all her personal properties to his name, and when she refused cow down to the pressure, her in laws started harassing her.
“Post wedding, it was decided that it I will stay with my husband. Before the wedding, in-laws visited my home and asked for more dowry. My husband and in-laws have been giving me mental and physical torture since the wedding for dowry. When my sister (name withheld) was in Delhi, Sachin had sexually assaulted her. Sachin had tried to transfer all properties in my name to his name and when I refused, Sachin had physically assaulted me on 20 October 2019. I have been tortured mentally and physically by in-laws for dowry,” Priya said in the FIR, which was accessed by media publications including livemint.
Priya has also accused the Flipkart co-founder of physical and sexual assault charges.
As per the latest unconfirmed reports, Sachin Bansal’s family has gone missing after filing of the FIR.
Sachin Bansal has so far not commented on this shocking development.
Sachin Bansal enjoys cult status in India’s startup industry. He, along with his Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal, are amongst the most widely talked and covered startup entrepreneurs in the country.
Interestingly, even his partner Binny Bansal had to face intense public scrutiny following his controversial exit from Flipkart, after being accused of misconduct with a female employee in the company.
