Google Play Store’s subscription service Google Play Pass has finally made its debut in India. The service will start rolling on Android devices later this week. Currently available in almost 90 countries, the Google Play Pass was first launched in the U.S. in 2019.

To avail this service, your phone needs to operate on Android version 4.4 and boost Google Play Store app version 16.6.25.

Google Play Pass provides the users access to curated collection of more than 1,000 apps. The best thing about these apps is that users won’t be interrupted by ads, it is completely add free. However, since these apps are part of the curated collection, it will only offer selected apps.

Google Play Pass will come with one month free trail but after that users will have to pay either Rs 99 monthly rental or Rs 899 for the entire year. To make things more flexible, Google will also offer prepaid monthly option that will cost Rs 109.

To access this service users will have to simply tap the profile icon on top right of the play store app and then opt for Play Pass option.

Some of the popular games that are available on Google Play Pass are Jungle Adventures, World Cricket Battle 2 and Mountain Valley. Many other helpful apps like Utter, Unit Converter and audio labs are also on Google Play Pass.

Notably, Apple too offers similar subscription service in the form of Apple Arcade. But the major difference Google Play Pass and Apple Arcade is that latter only offers curated collection of games.

Google has said that Google Play Pass will not only benefit Indian users but also developers who will get “new avenue to expand their global user base and unlock new revenue stream.”
