Google with its dream to become an ‘AI-First’ company has acquired yet another AI startup called Halli Labs. The startup operates from Bengaluru.
Halli, which means ‘the village’ in the local language, stated the news of Google buy-up on its blog post. Later Google also confirmed the news of the acquisition. The blog post says that the Halli Labs will join the Google’s Next Billion Users team. And that the team is high on excitement.
The Halli Labs is a brain child of Pankaj Gupta. Halli Labs main focus is developing deep learning and machine learning capabilities for the market. The goal of the startup was to make technology accessible to a number of common people. Bring new technological solutions for the old problems. Moreover, bridging the gap between various domains. Overall, the AI startup is confident that once the goals are realised people can have more sources of dependable technology to do things with ease.
Pankaj Gupta is a data scientist by profession. Before starting Halli Labs he has worked on several interesting projects. One of it was to run recommendation and personalisation development for Twitter. Moreover, he was also the CTO for Stayzilla a rival for Airbnb however, now it’s defunct. He also ran other entrepreneurial ventures.
The team at Halli Labs is excited to join Google and why not so as Google is currently a leading force in the world of AI.
