Unacademy’s nearly 20 Staff Members tested Covid-19 Positive

Nearly 20 staff members of Edutech major Unacademy have been tested COVID-19 positive. Unacademy’s co-founder & CEO Gaurav Munjal has confirmed this news on his official twitter handle. Most of these 20 staff members reportedly belong to housekeeping and administration staff. According to reports, no one from Unacademy’s top management team has been so far tested positive. However, Techpluto could not ascertain this fact independently.

Unacademy’s headquarter is located in Bengaluru and it also reportedly operates few regional offices across the country. As per reports, the 20 Covid patients hail from the Bengaluru headquarter.

Munjal said that some members of Unacademy have been indeed tested positive and the company is extending full support and care to them. He further added “while our offices remain shut, some senior leaders voluntarily opt to come in for meetings. They have encouraged their teams to continue to work from home.”

Some unconfirmed reports claim that Unacademy’s top management team has been forcing employees to continue coming to the office despite some staff members testing positive. However, Munjal has denied these reports, claiming that these reports are completely untrue.

Munjal has went on to add that Unacademy will continue to conduct few meetings in its office but attending these meetings won’t be compulsory at all.
