Near.Store ties up with FMGC players to enter Hyperlocal space

E-commerce platform Near.Store has tied up with key FMGC players like Mondelez India and Marico to marks its entry in the hyperlocal space. The purpose of this partnership is to help deliver essential & daily use products to customer’s doorsteps and thereby assist them in coping with the lockdown.

The other FMGC brands that have on boarded on Near.Store’s platform include Epigamia, Raw Pressary and “and nothing else.”

Commenting on the tie-up, Garima Dikshit, Head of eCommerce, Mondelez India, said, “We know the role our products play in our consumers’ life, more so in these challenging times, as they look at their trusted brands like Cadbury, OREO and Bournvita, as ways to indulge in or create eat experiences with their families.”

Dikshit further added “hence we are ensuring our much-loved products are available where ever our consumers shop. The association with varied partners like Near.Store and many others is in line with these efforts.”

Near.Store was initially only a plug and play hyperlocal platform that helps local kirana stores to go online as well as digitize their entire inventory. It does this by leveraging the power of AI driven dongle and software.

Given the extremely tough times brought forth by COVID 19 lockdown, the platform decided to jump into hyperlocal space to offer respite to the troubled customers.

According to a statement issued by Near.store, the company currently facilitates delivery to over 128 large housing societies across the financial city of Mumbai. To place an order, each society has to create a separate society micro-site on the Near.store site

In February this year, Near.store raised $300,000 seed funding from Sauce.vc, an early stage VC fund specialist. A group of individual investors also participated in the funding round. The company is headquartered in Mumbai.
