Before you begin following these steps, make sure that you have the following pre-requisites met your Android device.

  • All the security programs must be disabled on your device and your PC

  • The battery on your Galaxy tab should be at least 80%

  • Take the backups of all the important data such as SMS, videos, images, songs etc.

  • Install the USB drivers of your Android device on your PC

  • Ensure that the phone has been rooted before you apply these steps. You must have the custom recovery image before you begin using this procedure. Download and install ClockworkMod Recovery on your device for the image.

  • In case of you are facing problems downloading CWM then you must unlock the bootlaoder first.

  • Ensure that the USM port and cable used for connection between your PC and the device are in perfect condition so that there are no interruptions during the procedure.

  • Activate the USB Debugging Mode on your tablet by accessing settings.

  • Install the most current version of Java SDK and Android SDK on your PC

Steps to increase the internal memory on your device:

Step 1: Power off your tablet and access the recovery mode by pressing down volume button and the home button at the same time. While holding these buttons, also press down the power button as well.

Step 2: While you are in the recovery mode, select wipe data/factory reset option to completely wipe off the data from your device’s internal memory. Once this has been done clear all the cache from your phone memory by selecting “wipe cache partition” option.

Step 3: Clear your android device of Dalvik Cache by navigating to the advanced settings and selecting “Wipe Dalvik Cache” option.

Step 4: Now go back to the main menu by pressing back button and restart your Android tab.

Step 5: Download and install the MiniTool partition wizard app on your desktop

Step 6: With the help of a card reader, insert the memory card of your tab into the PC. It is advised to not use the USB cord at it can impact the performance of the tool.

Step 8: Select the SD card and then right click on the options to choose Delete. This step will format all the data on SD card.

Step 10: Select the file type as FAT32 and allocate the space that you would need and should be the amount that you would utilize

Step 11: Following the same steps as stated above, select “Create as: primary” and then change it to Ext2, Ext3 or Ext4 that will create an external partition. The space that is downloaded will be utilized by this file.

Step 13: Download Link2SD file in your Tab and install it

Step 14: Click on ext2 icon and choose OK. Now press OK again to restart your phone. Go to settings tab and check the options “auto link” and “auto link notification” and then click on install location. Choose the External Icon and then power off the phone.

Step 15: Once all the steps have been successfully completed, just choose “reboot system now” which will automatically start your Galaxy Tab 10.1. You should now reboot your tab again in the normal mode.
