Apple wants to completely overhaul its Apple TV app by December 2023
According to Bloomberg, Apple is planning to totally redesign its TV app. This new TV app is likely to be launched in December 2023 as part of an upcoming tvOS software update. Qualcomm launches on-device AI to mobile and PC
Qualcomm has announced at its Snapdragon Summit 2023 that it is bringing on-device AI to mobile and PC devices with its new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and X Elite chips. This means users can now use top AI models like Baidu’s ERNIE 3.5, OpenAI’s Whisper or Meta’s Llama 2 directly on their phones or laptops. What’s even great that they don’t have to rely on cloud connection for using these AI models, making it more efficient and quicker. Today several top tech companies use on-device AI to offer useful features to their users. For instance, Apple’s A16 Bionic chip uses on-device AI to power features such as Face ID, Live Text, and Cinematic Mode in videos.

Currently, this feature is only being rolled out for English listeners in the United States but is soon expected to be expanded to other markets. Additionally, YouTube Music has also launched ‘Speed Dial’ feature that will put your most-listened to content directly on your homepage, which would allow you to quickly hop into your favorite track.

Nightshade – A AI tool that could help artists in fighting the copyright problem
A team of engineers at the University of Chicago has a created a new AI tool called ‘Nightshade.’ Nightshade could possibly stop AI models from blatantly stealing the creative works for training purposes. The tool basically allows artists to insert invisible pixels into their creative works. These very undetectable pixels will then corrupt or distort the artists’ work if any AI model chooses to access and use it for any training purposes. However, the efficiency of Nightshade is still being tested. This AI tool has come at a time when companies like OpenAI are facing barrage of lawsuits over copyright infringement.
