Ola’s Co-founder Ankit Bhatia invests in Edtech startup Winuall

Bengaluru headquartered edtech startup Winuall has raised undisclosed amount of funds from Ola’s co-founder Ankit Bhatia and Nitin Gupta – Head of Eng, Milkbasket.  Clutch of angel investors also participated in the funding round but their names were not disclosed.

The startup said that it will use the capital infusion for ramping up the business and curating more content catering to the entire coaching industry. The company had just launched live classes to help teachers working in coaching classes to conduct online classes; a feature that should come in handy during the ongoing pandemic crises.

Commenting on the funding said, Nitin Gupta said “Edtech industry is at an inflection point and is undergoing an enormous transformation since the outbreak of COVID. I believe what Winuall is building is precisely what this ecosystem needs – improving in-class learning through tech and AI.”

With COVID-19 lockdown isolating millions of students and teachers in their homes, edtech startups have gone full throttle in exploiting the situation to their advantage, and investors have also reciprocated their efforts. Since the lockdown began, quite a few edtech startups have managed to secure funds, with online education startup Vedantu recently raising $7 Mn from the investors.

About Winuall

Ashwini Purohit founded Winuall back in 2018 along with his acquaintances Abhinav Prakash Aniket Prakash, Pratik Sahay & Harsha Ravi.

The startups essentially help coaching institutes as well as independent educators in improving the academic performance of their students. It achieves this by assisting coaching institutes to going digital, offering them with high-quality content and performance improvement recommendations. The company leverages the power of AI to offer these services to its clients.

The company claims to have a presence in more than 50 cities across India.

“While ed-tech space has seen many players transforming self-paced learning, there hasn’t been much impact on in-class learning, Winuall is looking to disrupt this space. Today, coaching classes are silent contributors to the Indian education ecosystem bridging an important gap that schools and colleges are struggling to fill. There are over 700k coaching’s across India, and not even 10% of them have moved digital,” said Ashwini Purohit, Founder of Winuall.
