Reddit Acquires TikTok’s rival Dubsmash
Social media platform Reddit, which aggregates online news and is known for its discussion forums, has acquired Dubsmash. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. Dubsmash is a popular video syncing app and is one of the few remaining TikTok rivals that boasts impressive customer traction. Its impressive customer & market tractions invariably made it an acquisition target. By the way, not too long ago Reddit’s CEO Steve Huffman made a controversial statement about TikTok, calling it as fundamentally parasite.
This acquisition marks the entry of yet another social media platform’s entry into the short video content format.
Tesla may temporarily suspend the production of two of its models – Model S and Model X
Starting Christmas Tesla is most likely to shut down the production of Model X and Model S cars for almost three weeks. According to CNBC, most employees involved in the production of these cars will get full week’s pay while few will get paid leaves and others will get absorbed in other production teams. There has been no confirmed news as to why Tesla has taken such a decision but it may have been provoked by Tesla’s ongoing taxation issues with the California state.
