  • Take a backup of all the content on your iPad. You can use iTunes for that. You never know but it is better to be careful
  • You will have to jailbreak your iPad. Now, jailbreaking is technically legal, it will make your warranty with Apple void.
  • The apps that you will need are not supported by Apple, at least most of them. You will have to download them from a jailbreak site.

So, the first step in using a wireless mouse with iPad is by jailbreaking your iPad. Jailbreaking an iPad in itself should not be difficult as there are many sites devoted to this specialty. You can do it with the help of computers or without. The choice is really yours. All you have to do is follow the instructions carefully. Just open Safari and go to the site of your choice.

Once the jailbreak is complete the next step is to you will be able to visit the app stores which are not supported by Apple. For instance if you visit the site www.jailbreakme.com then you will get an icon for Cydia App Store on your iPad.

The next step is to search for the wireless mouse in the store. Once you find it install the app. If you want to test the app before you buy it, you can just opt for the free demo. Otherwise just buy the app.

The final step involves pairing up your devices – iPad and the wirelss mouse. Once the app is installed then you can see an icon for the mouse on your iPad. In case you are also thinking of using a wireless keyboard then it is recommended that you pair up your keyboard with the iPad first and then the mouse. If it is not done in this order it might not work. So, for pairing up the iPad and the mouse, first make the mouse discoverable. Open the mouse app and follow the instructions given.

By using Insomnia you can make sure that some functions are running in the background even in the sleep mode. So, this way you need not re-pair the devices each time it goes into sleep mode.
