Conversational AI startup Agara gets another $4.3 Mn funding in Pre-Series A round

Conversation voice AI startup Agara has got a fresh $4.3 Mn capital infusion as part of its extended Pre-series A funding round. UTEC spearheaded the funding round while existing investors Blume Ventures and RTP Global also pumped funds in the round. With the latest fundraising round, the Indo-American startup has raised total $7.5 Mn in a pre-series A round.

The funds will be channelized to ramp up the headcounts of ML research executives and Data scientist in the current year. The New York headquartered startup also has the ambitious plan to set up an AI research team in the IT city of Bengaluru in 2021.

Commenting about the funding, Co-founder & CEO Abhimanyu said “whether it is sales calls, phone support or product feedback, voice has been the top choice for companies around the globe. We strive to be the pioneers in the voice-first-world. With the new COVID norms, we expect the demand for virtual voice agents to rise manifold. Last year, we processed a over million calls and a million emails in 12 countries across every continent in four languages. With the new surge in demand, we’re confident of increasing this number to 5 Mn calls.”

Incorporated in 2017, Agara strives to build virtual voice agents with an aim to revolutionize the phone support experience. The startup, which is based in New York and has a team in Bengaluru, leverages the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to achieve success in its ambitious quest.  Powered by artificial intelligence & machine learning, their virtual voice agents comprehend intention in a speech and make intelligent decisions to resolve complicated queries.

The startup claims to be a revenue generating business and counts high profile companies like P&G among its many loyal clients.

Today India is home to conversational AI startups, with most of them engaged in AI based chatbots.
