Indian IT companies have been clearly bitten by the Metaverse bug, which has been rapidly gaining global traction by every passing day. Last week, Infosys announced its foray into Metaverse with the launch of Metaverse Foundry, It is now the turn of Tech Mahindra to foray into the world of 3D virtual reality.

The IT major on Monday unveiled TechMverse, its exclusive practice to provide interactive and immersive experience through this emerging technology.

TechMverse will offer many services to its users in its 3D virtual world. This includes DealerVerse – metaverse-based car dealership, Middlemist – NFT marketplace, Meta Bank – a virtual bank, and gaming center.

The platform will provide immersive experience around design, content, as well as low code plug and play Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) and Blockchain platforms, the company added.

Tech Mahindra further said that it will hire 1,000 engineers who will be trained for its TechMverse. The company also said that initially TechMverse’s operations will be spread across four hubs including Pune, Dallas, London and Hyderabad.

Additionally, Tech Mahindra has collaborated with its another sister company Mahindra & Mahindra for offering digital collectibles. Initially most of the digital collectibles will be pertaining to some of the most iconic brands from the stable of Mahindra & Mahindra, which is one of the leading auto manufacturing companies of India.

The information about TechMverse is still hazy and unambiguous. Tech Mahindra still hasn’t made clear where and how users can access TechMverse.  For instance, TechMverse will be available on Decentraland or will it be accessible through Tech Mahindra’s indigenous network.

However, it is pretty clear that the Indian IT companies have started sniffing the growth opportunity in Metaverse. There is every likelihood that Wipro and TSC might also pretty soon join the Metaverse bandwagon.
