You can no longer repeat the word ‘forever’ in ChatGPT’s Prompts
ChatGPT will no longer respond to any prompts that asks the chatbot to repeat the word ‘forever.’ Doing so violates ChatGPT’s content policy and terms & condition. OpenAI took this decision after researchers found that after they discovered a vulnerability in the model that allowed them to extract fragments of its training data by prompting it with repetitive words like ‘forever.’ According to reports, the extracted training data included users’ personal information like phone numbers, email addresses and dates of birth. Many experts have claimed that AI chatbots, which have been trained on vast amount of data, can resort to strange and unethical behaviour if they are not regulated properly.

TikTok users will be soon allowed to create their Custom Chatbot
ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, is all set to enter the generative AI race. According to reports in Chinese media, ByteDance is currently working on a platform that will allow users to create their own artificial intelligence chatbot, which are also known as custom chatbots. This bot development platform is expected to be launched for beta testing before the end of December 2024. ByteDance has reportedly codenamed this platform “O.” Just like OpenAI’s platform, “O” will leverage large language models (LLMs) to power its chatbots. ByteDance’s entry in the generative AI space can shake up the entire industry. Barely a week before, Amazon had also launched its own generative AI chatbot ‘Q.’

iPhone users can now send photos and videos in original quality
WhatsApp is rolling out new update in IOS that will allow iPhone users to share photos and videos in their original quality. This feature is currently available in the latest versions of WhatsApp for iOS. This news will come as a big relief for iPhone users have been complaining about the app compressing photos and videos, leading to a noticeable drop in quality when shared. This news also spells good news for iPhone photographers and videographers who want to share their content without sacrificing quality. However, there is still not clarity when will WhatsApp launch this feature for Android users.

Meta is breaking the connection between Instagram and Facebook messenger chat
Starting from December 2023, Instagram and Facebook Messenger chats will be disconnected. This means you’ll no longer be able to chat with Facebook friends on Instagram and vice-versa. Meta hasn’t given any specific reason for doing this but regulatory pressures in EU may have prompted this action. There is still no clarity whether this decision is restricted to EU market only or will be carried out in other global markets as well. Meta had announced optional cross-platform integration way back in 2019, which in a way blurred the lines between its most popular services.

OpenAI applies for ‘GPT-6’ & ‘GPT-7’ trademarks in China
OpenAI, the company behind the viral AI chatbot ChatGPT, has reportedly filed trademark applications for “GPT-6” and “GPT-7” in China. These filings were submitted to the Trademark Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration. The filing of these trademarks suggests that OpenAI is actively exploring opportunities in the Chinese market, despite the company’s current focus on the United States and other Western markets. If granted, these trademarks would give OpenAI exclusive rights to use the GPT-6 and GPT-7 names in China for the specified goods and services.
