Apple is planning major update for iPad Pro in 2024

According to several sources, Apple is planning to bring lot of improved features in iPad Pro. This all-new improved iPad Pro is likely to hit the market in the first of 2024. The upgraded features include a new M3 chip, which is expected to be faster than the M2 chip currently used in the iPad. It is also likely to boost an OLED display and revamped Magic Keyboard. Additionally, sources also claim that new iPad Pro is also expected to have a slightly larger display than the current models, and it may also support Face ID. This will be the biggest update for iPad pro since its last major update in 2018.

Stephen King not impressed with AI’s creativity

Popular American author Stephen King has written in one of his blogposts that he is not opposed to the idea of his books being used to train AI models. However, he argued that AI falls short when it comes to creativity. He said that “creativity can’t happen without sentience and there are now arguments that some AIs are indeed sentient. But I’m not convinced.” He, however, added that one day AI can match humans in creativity but there is still a long way to go that. King’s opinion about AI are shared by many other authors. In a recent survey, 70% of authors said that they are concerned about the use of AI in the creative process.

X to challenge LinkedIn with ‘X Hiring’

X, formerly known as Twitter, has launched a private beta of its new job hiring feature. Known as X Hiring, this feature is currently available to only verified organizations. With X Hiring, verified organizations can post job listings on their X profiles. The listings will be visible to other verified organizations and to job seekers who have created profiles on X. Job seekers can also search for jobs by keywords or locations. Additionally, X Hiring will be integrated with other features of the microblogging platform such as messaging and live-streaming. This new feature will be currently available only in the United States, Canada and United Kingdom.

Xpeng acquires ride-hailing giant Didi’s smart EV assets

Xpeng, Tesla’s China rival, has announced its acquisition of the smart EV assets of ride-hailing giant Didi for $744 million. The deal will also reportedly give Xpeng access to Didi’s autonomous driving unit DiDi Auto Labs. This development comes closely on the heels of Volkswagen’s recent $700 Mn investment in Xpeng. Both these developments clearly indicate China’s growing electric vehicle market. The deal will also bring relief to Didi, which recently has been reeling under China’s regulatory crackdown and this has impacted its financial performance.
