Why Wont My Phone Update

If you’re anything like me, you’re probably wondering why your phone won’t update. Well, I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone. Many of us have been there, and we’ve all asked ourselves the same question.

Why won’t my phone update? It’s a good question, and one that I’m going to help you answer. Keep reading to find out the most common reasons why your phone won’t update, and what you can do about it.

Why your phone won’t update

If your phone won’t update, it might be because:

  • Your battery is low. Plugging your phone in to charge while you update may help.
  • You’re trying to update to a beta version of iOS. Beta versions are only available to developers at this time.
  • There isn’t enough storage space on your phone for the update. Try deleting some apps or files that you don’t need before trying to update again.
  • Your network connection is weak or unreliable. Try updating your phone when you have a better connection.

Common update problems

If you’re having problems with an app you got from Microsoft Store, look for support from the developer. If you can’t find it there, contact Microsoft support.

Some common problems might be:

  • The app doesn’t launch or crashes unexpectedly.
  • The app doesn’t open or close as expected.
  • You can’t find the app after installing it.

Steps to take before updating

It’s always a good idea to backup your device before installing an update. This way, if something goes wrong, you can always restore your device to its previous state.

There are two ways to backup your device: via iCloud or iTunes.

Backing up via iCloud is the easiest way – all you need is a Wi-Fi connection. Your device will automatically backup any new data wirelessly and will continue to do so whenever it’s connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into a power source.

To backup via iTunes, you’ll need to connect your device to your computer with a USB cable. Once it’s connected, open iTunes and select your device. In the Summary pane, click “Back Up Now.”

How to update your phone

Most people don’t know how to update their phone and it can be really frustrating when you can’t seem to get the latest version of your favorite apps. Luckily, there are a few simple steps you can take to make sure your phone is always up-to-date.

First, open your settings app and tap on the “Software update” option. From here, you should see a list of available updates. If there is an update available for your phone, tap on “Download and install” to start the update process.

Once the update has been downloaded, your phone will reboot and install the update automatically. Depending on your phone, this process can take a few minutes or up to an hour. Once the update is finished installing, your phone will restart again and you’ll be running the latest version of your operating system!

After the update

Once you update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can check to see if any new features or updates are available.

Open the Settings app. Tap General, then tap About. Look for the version number. The new version of iOS should say what’s new in the update.

To update now, tap Install. Or you can tap Later and choose Install Tonight or Remind Me Later. If you tap Install Tonight, just plug your iOS device into power before you go to sleep. Your device will update automatically overnight.

Troubleshooting update problems

If you’re having trouble updating your phone, it may be due to one of the following reasons:

  • You don’t have a strong enough data signal.
  • There’s not enough storage space on your phone.
  • Your battery is low.

If you’re still having trouble, try the following:

  • Restart your phone.
  • Turn off your WiFi and try using cellular data.
  • Turn off power saving mode.
  • Clear the cache and data for the Google Play Store app.
  • Uninstall and reinstall the app.

Phone won’t update? Here’s what to do

If you’re having trouble updating your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS, it’s usually because your device isn’t compatible with the new software or because there isn’t enough storage space on your device. If that’s the case, you’ll need to free up some space on your device or try updating using iTunes on your computer.

If you see a message that says “This update is not available for your iPhone,” it means that either your iPhone isn’t connected to the Internet or it doesn’t have enough battery life to download and install the update. To check if there’s an iOS update available for your device, connect to a power source and go to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, tap Download and Install.

Updating your phone

One of the most common reasons a phone won’t update is because it doesn’t have enough storage space. Most phones need at least 1GB of free space in order to update successfully.

Another possibility is that your phone is set to not update automatically. To check this, go to Settings > System > About phone > System updates and make sure that the “Check for system updates automatically” switch is turned on.

If neither of these solutions work, then you may need to perform a factory reset. This will delete all of the data on your phone, so be sure to back up anything important first. To do a factory reset, go to Settings > System > Reset and choose the “Factory reset” option.
