    US Advocacy group requests FTC to stop OpenAI’s new GPT releases

    US Advocacy group requests FTC to stop OpenAI’s new GPT releases

    OpenAI, which has created ripples across the world with its viral chatbot ChatGPT, may soon very well face legal problems in releasing new versions ChatGPT. That’s because a leading tech ethics group Center for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Policy has urged U.S FTC (Federal Trade Commission) to legally halt OpenAI from releasing the fresh version of ChatGPT 4, citing that the ChatGPT 4 is “biased, deceptive and a risk to privacy and public safety.” This FTC compliant follows an open letter signed by tech experts including billionaire Elon Musk calling for at least six month ban on projects involved in developing AI system that are aiming to be more powerful than GPT-4, citing grave risk to the society.

    GitHub ordered to identify culprit who leaked Twitter Source Code

    In a major victory for Twitter, a district court in the U.S. has ordered GitHub to the reveal the identity of the culprit who disclosed the partial source code of Twitter on its platform earlier this week. The concerned user is registered under the name “FreeSpeech Enthusiast” on GitHub. The court has ordered the collaborative programming network to identify and disclose the user’s true name, address, telephone number, address and IP address. According to media reports, Twitter suspects that a dissatisfied former employee may be responsible for the leak. Twitter has all the reasons to believe this theory as it had recently fired scores of employees soon after Elon Musk took over the company.

    Virgin Orbit officially shuts down its space launch operation

    It is now almost end of the road for Richard Branson’s ambitious space company Virgin Orbit. Virgin Orbit’s CEO Dan Hart reportedly told its employees in all important meeting that the company will be stopping all its foreseeable operations due to severe funding crunch. The company also confirmed in SEC filing that it will be eliminating nearly 90% of its entire workforce. Virgin orbit was launched in 2017 as a spinoff of Richard Branson’s space tourism company Virgin Galactic. Its aim was to provide launch service for small satellites with help of its flagship rocket launcher LauncherOne. However, most of its launch trails could not succeed. In its hey days, Virgin Orbit was considered to be the potential competitor of Elon Musk’s space company SpaceX.

    Elon Musk is now the most followed person on Twitter

    Elon Musk is now the most followed personality on Twitter, a company that he incidentally bought last year. With more than 133 Mn followers, the Tesla and SpaceX boss dethroned the former U.S President Barrack Obama. But Musk is leading Obama by a thin margin and the former U.S. President can anytime dethrone him again. Musk, who is currently the second richest man in the world, had reached 100 Mn followers in last year June. Since then he has witnessed a gradual increase in its followership, getting more push in its fanbase after taking over the ownership of Twitter in October last year.

    Google Targets Microsoft Cloud over Anti-Competitive Practices

    Google’s Cloud company has made some unflattering remarks against Microsoft cloud platform Azure, accusing the latter of anti-competitive practices that will supposedly hurt the customers in long run. Google Cloud Vice President Amit Zavery said that Microsoft is unduly exploiting its dominance in the on-­premise-business as well as Office 365 and Windows to create the monopoly for its cloud service Azure. Zavery further said that it has raised the issue about Microsoft Azure’s increasing monopoly with Europe’s anti-trust agencies.
