Twitter Considers Legal Action Against Meta over Threads

Barely 24 hours after Instagram Threads official launch, reports are now emerging that Twitter is planning to file a lawsuit against Meta. Twitter is accusing the Mark Zuckerberg led company of poaching employees and using its trade secrets for developing Threads. Twitter’s attorney Alex Spiro has already sent a to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, demanding that Meta should stop using Twitter’s trade secrets. Commenting on this fiasco, Twitter’s owner Elon Musk tweeted that “competition is fine, cheating is not.” Meta or its owner Mark Zuckerberg, on other hand, are yet to comment on this issue.


OpenAI makes GPT-4’s API generally available

ChatGPT’s parent company announced on Thursday that GPT-4’s API will be now available to all developers. This means that all OpenAI’s existing API developers with a history of successful payments can now access GPT-4. OpenAI plans to give API access to new developers by end of July and thereafter plans to keep raising its availability limits. GPT-4 is a significant improvement over all its predecessors including GPT-3.5, It is 10 times more advanced and generates more realistic and coherent responses. Developers have been requesting access to GPT-4 since its launch and its general availability can prove to be yet another game changer for AI.


TikTok launches ‘TikTok Music’ in Brazil and Indonesia

Popular short video sharing platform TikTok has launched its own music streaming service called TikTok Music in Brazil and Indonesia. However, TikTok Music does not offer any free plans and provides only subscription-based service with the basic plan starting from $3.49. TikTok Music offers several standard features including uninterrupted ad-free listening, a download function for listening offline, and the ability to create and share playlists. Users can also connect TikTok Music with TikTok account. It is still not known whether TikTok plans to launch music streaming service in other markets.


Musk predicts Tesla will launch ‘fully autonomous vehicles’ later this year

Elon Musk has made an ambitious prediction that Tesla will release fully autonomous vehicles “later this year.” He made this prediction at an artificial intelligence conference in Shanghai. However, it must be noted that Musk has  notorious history of making similar predictions in the past. But while speaking at the AI conference in Shanghai, the tech billionaire claimed that his company made significant progress in recent years, and Tesla’s cars are now capable of some limited self-driving tasks. Despite Musk’s latest claim, self-driving cars continues to face many challenges including its ability to handle complex traffic situations and ensuring 100% safety of its passengers.
