Han, who joined TikTok in 2019, was the go-to man in addressing data security concerns in the U.S. He was mainly responsible for improving content moderation and minimizing misinformation during elections. Han’s resignation will come as a setback as it fights multiple challenges including the possible ban in the U.S. TikTok has not only been called out in the U.S. but also several in other countries for its allegedly unethical data privacy practices. The popular Chinse short video app, on other hand, has outrightly denied these allegations.

Increasing ad revenue is critical for Snap as its stock has been under pressure due to weak forecast given by the company.
