Sundar Pichai says Gemini’s Goof Up was ‘unacceptable’

Following severe backlash over recent biased responses by Gemini, Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai said that Gemini’s inaccurate responses about certain races were completely unacceptable. Overall, this is an inauspicious start by Gemini, which was supposed to give Google a good head start in the AI race.

Elon Musk takes a dig After Apple killed its car project

Tech billionaire and Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday responded in his trademark style after Apple reportedly killed its EV car project. Taking to his social media platform ‘X,’ Musk first posted a cryptic response, a salute emoji along with an image of a cigarette. This was followed up with another tweet that apparently took direct potshot on Apple’s failed car project. The tweet read ‘the natural state of a car company is dead.’ It is clear that Musk is taking great satisfaction over the failure of ‘Project Titan.’ That’s because had this project succeeded then Apple’s EV car would have directly competed with Elon Musk’s Tesla.

Speaking at Apple’s shareholder meeting on Wednesday, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook expressed a strong confidence in Apple’s upcoming advancements in generative AI in 2024. Cook specifically said that Apple will ‘break new grounds,’ indicating that the company is preparing to launch some big AI products this year. However, he didn’t shed much light on these products. But it signifies a potential shift in focus for Apple, following the reported cancellation of its ambitious electric car project. This clearly suggests that going forward AI will be the new area of priority for Apple. Considering Apple’s track record in breaking new grounds, Cook’s latest announcement has created a huge buzz in the AI industry.

Substack gets direct messaging (DM) feature

If you are a Substack user then there is a great news for you. Substack, the popular platform for independent writers, has announced the launch of direct messaging feature. This new feature allows users to have private one-on-one conversations with each other. This feature can prove a great way for writers and readers to connect with each other.  However, Substack has made sure that its users have a complete control over this feature, which means users only receive messages from those they are connected to. They can also review the request and eventually decide to approve or reject the connection request.
