Paris based AI startup Mistral AI made two big announcements that can potentially have a deep impact on the AI industry. First it announced the new large language model called ‘Mistral Large’ that will directly compete with OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google’s Gemini Pro. The great thing about Mistral Large is that it is comparatively cheaper than its competitors including GPT-4 Turbo. In another big announcements, Mistral AI announced the launch of chat assistant ‘Le Chat,’ which is a ChatGPT like assistant that can fulfilling many of your day-to-day task. That’s not all. Mistral AI has announced that tech giant Microsoft has taken a minority stake in its company.

Samsung launches a ‘smart ring’ with health tracking features

Samsung has officially entered the smart ring market with the launch of ‘Galaxy Ring.’ This new device comes with many valuable health tracking features. For instance, it can track heart rate, sleep patterns, and even your “readiness” for the day. Samsung envisions the ‘Galaxy Ring’ complementing their existing smartwatches. When worn together, the two devices could potentially offer a more comprehensive picture of your health and fitness data. Samsung is not the first company to launch smart ring. There are several other players that compete in this niche market. However, Galaxy Ring is still not available in the market for sale. It is likely to take months before the South Korean giant launches this product in the market.

Google on Monday announced the launch of new AI model called Genie, which will help gamers to make exciting games. Genie is currently focused on generating 2D platformer games similar to classic titles like Super Mario Bros. Though currently in a research and development phase, Genie has the potential to revolutionize game design by allowing creators to quickly prototype and iterate on ideas, or even enable users to personalize their own gaming experiences. Genie is trained on a massive dataset of unsupervised public internet gaming videos. Google’s new AI model represents a significant step forward in AI-powered game creation and holds exciting possibilities for the future of the gaming industry.

Google brings ‘Gemini’ into Android Messages

Google’s AI chatbot, Gemini, is now accessible directly within the Android Messages app. This means now Android users can now leverage Gemini’s capabilities without switching between applications. You can even take help for planning events and simply have a chat with Gemini for entertainment or to pass the time. Additionally, Google has also launched AI Text Summaries that will provide condensed summaries of all the incoming text messages. However, Android users should note these features are still in beta testing phase and it will probably take months before this feature is launched in the market.

Ola’s AI Chatbot ‘Krutrim AI’ is now Open to Public

Ola on Monday launched the beta version of its AI chatbot ‘Krutrim’ for wider public use. Till now, the made in India AI chatbot was accessible to only limited people on sign ups. Post launch, Krutrim AI has also become India’s first AI unicorn as it raised $50 Mn in funding. It is currently available in English and Hindi, with plans to expand to other Indian languages in the future. Just like ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, It can generate text, translate languages, write different kinds of creative content, and answer your questions in an informative way.
