Microsoft Word 2010 without XML

Microsoft Word without XML has has arrived. Here are the details:

A successful lawsuit on Microsoft by i4i inc. regarding patent infringement of custom XML usage had eventually forced the Tech Pioneer to abide with the court’s decision and avert the conflicting XML usages from existing and future Microsoft Word application by Jan 11, 2010.

On Jan 11, there were a number of office versions, which went unavailable for buying, which clearly depicted that Microsoft didn’t meet the deadline on time. A couple of media sources noted it right on Jan 11 itself.

Now it seems that Microsoft is done with the exclusion of questionable custom XML usage in Word application as various Office application suites, which mainly covers the Office 2007 offerings as yet, have started selling on the official Microsoft Office site again.
