Microsoft Office 2010 buyers will get a free upgrade to Microsoft Office 2013

As per the announcement by Microsoft, Microsoft Office 2013 free upgrade will be given to customers with MS 2010.

As the global leader and tech giant Microsoft is getting prepared for the launch of Windows 8, very interesting news is being released every day. For now, Microsoft’s announcement is set to please its customers who have recently bought Microsoft Office 2010.

According to this offer, that is applicable for only those consumers who have bought Microsoft only after October 19, customers will be given an option to upgrade their respective version viz. home and student, professional or home and business to its respective Office 2013 counterpart or they can have a one year free subscription of the Office 365 premium which is a cloud based service. They can choose either of the above option without paying even a single penny.

People with any other version can only upgrade to the respective Office 365 versions. A specific announcement for the Office University 2010 users was also made. They will be delighted to know that they will be getting a whopping four year free subscription of the Office 365 University free of cost. This offer is valid for both MAC and Windows users.

Microsoft is very careful for frauds this time so, it is not going to just handover the upgrade to you without any confirmation. It requires a purchase proof that dates between October, 19 2012 and April, 30 2013 and also a valid genuine product key in order to avail the upgrade from Microsoft. Also if you have recently bought a computing device that comes with any version of Microsoft Office 2010 pre- installed on it, you are entitled to be given an update as soon as it is launched for the general masses in the markets.

For those who are planning to or have already bought a computing device which runs on Microsoft Windows RT, which is an ARM based version of the Microsoft Windows 8, this upgrade offer will not be that much relevant for you. As you will already be getting the RT version of the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 pre-installed on your device. Also this version of Office 2013 is not allowed to be used for commercial purposes but if you are in dire need, you can do so by purchasing a separate valid commercial license.

Microsoft had earlier made the announcement that the RT based devices will be shipped with the Microsoft Office 2013 preview version installed on them and as soon as the update will be available, the users will be pushed a free upgrade, to the earliest.

Although rumors have that Microsoft is already preparing to roll out the RT upgrade even before the official launch of the RT surface tab.

Whatever the scenario may be, this news has certainly brought smiles on the faces of the users who have recently bought or are soon to buy the Microsoft Office package or devices with Office pre-installed on them. This seems to be another fantastic marketing strategy adopted very intelligently by Microsoft at the right time.

Microsoft is bound to get huge response as this offer is very luring for the customers who are already excited with the launch of Microsoft Windows 8 which is round the corner. Let us wait and watch the big results of this announcement and to see what else Microsoft has in store for its loyal customers around the globe.

But the fact that Microsoft is really focused on building consumer relations these days is further consolidated with such user friendly offers.
