Apple releases emergency updates to fix new Zero Day vulnerabilities

Apple on Thursday released emergency security updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watch OS to fix three new zero-day vulnerabilities. Two of these vulnerabilities were located in WebKit browser engine and the third one was located in the Kernel framework. X is closing down Circles

X, previously known as Twitter, is all set to pull the plug on Circles feature on October 31, 2023. Circles was a feature that allowed users to share posts with a limited group of people instead of all of their followers. X has not given a specific reason for shutting down Circles but its lack of traction and popularity could be one of the reasons. Following this decision, users will no longer be able to create new posts that are limited to their Circle, nor will they be able to add people to their Circle. Users may even consider downloading their Circle data before the feature gets officially shut down. They can do this by going to their Circles settings and clicking on the “Download Circle Data” button.

GitHub Passkeys now available to all users for Passwordless sign-ins

GitHub announced on Thursday that its passkeys are now generally available to all users. GitHub had introduced passkey support in July as part of a public beta passwordless authentication push. Back then only limited number of developers were able to access it. To use passkeys with GitHub, you will need to register a passkey on your device. Once you have registered a passkey, you can use it to sign in to GitHub without having to enter a password. Passkeys are a new form of passwordless sign-in that is more secure and convenient than traditional passwords. The passkeys are so secure that even if hackers have been able to gain access to your device, they still won’t be able to steal it. As a result, all the data of your device will remain 100% safe.
