Meta Zuckerberg to quit Meta next Year (Here is what you need to know)
Meta’s spokesperson Andy Stone on Tuesday took to Twitter to disapprove a news report published on the popular American website claiming that Mark Zuckerberg is all set to quit Meta in 2023. Stone tweeted that this media report is ‘false.’ Zuckerberg has been facing tremendous pressure from the company’s directors as Meta’s costly experiment with Metaverse stumbles and Facebook and Instagram struggles to increase their active user base. Meta’s poor performance has also badly reflected on its stocks, with Meta’s stocks trading mostly in red over the last few months. The company even announced a huge lay off last week as part of its extensive cost-cutting measures.
EU launches multiple Investigation into TikTok Data Practices
The President of European Commission has confirmed that it has launched multiple investigations to ascertain whether TikTok has breached data privacy rules. These multiple investigations will look into whether TikTok transferred EU citizens’ data to China without consent and targeted advertising towards minors. The EU investigators want to ensure that the Chinese short video sharing app is adhering to the GDPR requirements. TikTok is already face heat in the U.S. over data privacy issues. The Chinese based company has continued to deny that it is illegally transferring foreign countries data back to U.S.

China’s largest iPhone factory located in Zhengzhou region has witnessed a violent among the workers as they continue to reel under strict COVID protocol. A video showing Foxconn factory workers In Zhengzhou having a violent skirmish with security personnel’s have gone viral. According to reports, the Foxconn’s Zhengzhou workers are not only fed up with the strict covid protocol but also angered over their unpaid dues. Meanwhile, Apple’s production targets for its newly launched iPhone 14 have been seriously affected due to ongoing unrest and COVID protocol in the Foxconn factory.
Indian Government summons Amazon over latest Layoffs
India’s Labor Ministry has summoned Amazon India to appear before the ministry officials with regards to the allegation that Amazon workers were removed after facing forced termination. This development comes after a local trade union filed a complaint against Amazon India, alleging that the recent layoffs were illegal and violated the labor laws. Amazon recently announced that it would lay off 10,000 employees across the world including India. This is the biggest lay off in Amazon’s corporate history.
