iPhone 15 Pro Overheating Due to IOS 17 Bug, claims Apple

Apple has officially acknowledged that the overheating issue in the recently launched iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max is due to a persistent bug in IOS 17. Apple added that some recent updates to third-party apps such as Instagram and Uber may have also contributed to the overheating issue. It further claimed that iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max’s hardware including the titanium frame and aluminum substructure are not contributing to the problem. Apple said that it is working with developers and engineers to resolve this issue. Meantime, the company has recommended few things to reduce the problem of overheating. This includes avoid using iPhone in hot environment, avoid using the phone while it is charging and closing any apps that is not in use.

Meta used Facebook and Instagram Data to train its new AI assistant  

Nick Clegg, Meta’s President of Global Affairs, said in an interview with Reuters that Meta used Facebook and Instagram’s public posts to train its new Meta AI virtual assistant. He, however, assured that Meta took all the preventive steps to filter out private details from the training datasets. He claimed that the company used variety of techniques to filter out private details like names, addresses, and phone numbers. Clegg justified this step by claiming that the public posts are the richest source of data for training AI models. Additionally, Clegg claimed that other big tech companies like Google and Facebook have also used public data to train their AI models. America’s NSA to start AI security center

America’s intelligence agency NSA or National Security Agency is starting a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) security center. This dedicated AI center will be responsible for overseeing the development and integration of AI capabilities within US defense and intelligence systems. This AI center will work in close coordination with NSA’s Cybersecurity Collaboration Center. Security experts claim that this move will help America in protecting its sensitive intelligence data including its AI models especially against the Chinese and Russian hackers who have been at the forefront of fighting a cyber war against the US. However, NSA has not given a exact timeline about when it plans to launch the AI center.

OpenAI quietly releases DALL-E 3 in Bing

Barely a week ago OpenAI had launched third version of its AI image generation tool DALL-E with several upgraded features. It now turns out that OpenAI has quietly integrated DALL-E 3 in Bing. This integration was discovered by several Twitter and Reddit users in the US. These users claimed that the images generated by Bing are now much more detailed and realistic, clearly hinting towards the integration. However, OpenAI has still not officially commented on this issue. As of today, DALL-E 3 is available only to limited number of users in Bing Image Creator, which is part of Microsoft’s browser-based AI suite. Furthermore, DALL-E 3 is yet to be released to the public through OpenAI’s official website.

Bing’s AI chat is pushing Malware via Spammy Ads

There have been reports during the last few days that Bing Chat responses are being infiltrated by spammy ads that are pushing malware into users’ devices. These malicious ads were discovered by cybersecurity researchers at Malwarebytes, which creates anti-malware software. Microsoft has said that it is aware of the issue and is working to resolve it. The company has also recommended that users to avoid clicking on links in Bing Chat conversations unless they are certain that they are legitimate and 100% secure.
