If you want to upgrade android version of your phone then learn here how to update samsung galaxy S advance i9070 to android 4.2.2 jelly bean.

Android has been keeping in line with its commitment to innovation and to surprise its users with latest features with their new updates. Every time an update is launched, the Android smart users are eager to install it and wait for it to unleash its potential while making their handsets much more than they really are. The recent updates may not really be revolutionary in nature but they do have certain features that make it worth the wait and excitement. However, it is a long wait before the flagship devices can enjoy the benefits of this latest technology as they are still waiting to officially use Android 4.3.

One such device is Galaxy S Advance i9070 which, as Samsung clearly points out, will not receive any further updates after 4.2.2. But the developers already have a solution to this problem and after successful release of Cyanogenmod 10.1 it is all set to release its upgraded version called CyanogenMod 10.2. Even though this model will make your Galaxy S Advance i9070 compatible with the latest update, there are still some issues that one is likely to face during installation.

For the safety of your device, it is recommended to follow these steps only if you are fully aware of the procedure as it can cause damage to your handset otherwise. This unofficial build of CyanogenMod is only compiled to be used on Samsung Galaxy S Advance i9070 and must not be used on any other handset. Here are some precautions that you must adhere to before you begin the update.

  • Charge your phone to at least 70% so that there are no interruptions during the process.

  • You must back up all your internal data like contacts, MMS, APN etc as the internal memory gets wiped out during the installation and you may lose all your important data.

  • For the custom ROM to flash properly, you must have custom recovery software like CWM or TWRP on your handset.

  • Enable the option of USB Debugging

If you want to know How to Update Samsung Galaxy S Advance i9070 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, then here are the steps in detail.

  • The first step is to download two important Samsung Galaxy S Advance files – latest build of CyanogenMod 10.2 from its official page and Gapps for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean that consists of all the important Google Apps like play store, Gmail, Google Now etc. These apps need to be downloaded separately as they are not included in the custom ROM.

  • Once the files have been downloaded, turn on the mass storage mode on your handset and connect to a computer. Copy the files from your phone into the computer. Do not extract them, use the copy function.

  • Disconnect the phone from your PC and turn your device off. Reboot your phone into recovery mode by press holding volume up button + home button + power button simultaneously and wait for the phone to turn into recovery mode. Release the power button when the screen displays Samsung Logo but keep holding the other buttons.

  • Next step is to take the backup of Android from your ROM so that you can restore it if these steps don’t work properly.

  • Choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset and also wipe cache partition to remove all the existing data as well as cache partitions. This step will clear your device of all the data from internal memory. This is the reason it is recommended to take a back up of all the important files before you begin this process.

  • Start the process of flashing Custom ROM by installing zip file located in your SD card and then choose the zip file in your SD card. Go through the files listed and select CyanogenMod 10.2.zip file to begin the process of installation. Proceed to the next step by selecting ‘yes’ option.

  • Once the execution is over, you would be able to see the recovery mode menu again.

  • Remove cache partitions or data to avoid being in the bootloops

  • Now choose the zip file for Gapps and once both the files have been successfully flashed, go back and reboot the system.

These steps will make your handset compatible with the latest 4.3 Jelly bean update with the help of CyanogenMod 10.2 custom ROM.
