Welcome to my blog! Today, I’m going to show you how to take a screen shot on your ThinkPad. This is a really handy skill to have, especially if you’re working on a project or presentation and need to capture something on your screen. Let’s get started!

How to take a screen shot on a ThinkPad

There are a few different ways to take a screen shot on a ThinkPad. The most common way is to press the “PrtSc” button, which is located on the top row of the keyboard. This will take a screenshot of the entire screen and save it to the clipboard. Alternatively, you can press the “Alt + PrtSc” keys to take a screenshot of just the active window.

If you want to take a screenshot of just a portion of the screen, you can use the “Snipping Tool” which is included with Windows. To launch the Snipping Tool, press the “Start” button and search for “Snipping Tool”. Then, use the tool to select the area of the screen that you want to capture. Once you have made your selection, click on the “Save” button to save your screenshot.

The different ways to take a screen shot on a ThinkPad

There are a few different ways to take a screen shot on a ThinkPad, depending on which model you have.

If you have a ThinkPad X1 Carbon, you can take a screenshot by pressing the Fn + Spacebar keys. This will take a screenshot of the entire screen and save it as a PNG file in the “My Pictures” folder.

If you have a ThinkPad T61 or newer, you can take a screenshot by pressing the Fn + PrtScn keys. This will take a screenshot of the entire screen and save it as a PNG file in the “My Pictures” folder.

If you have an older ThinkPad model, you can take a screenshot by pressing the Ctrl + PrtScn keys. This will take a screenshot of the entire screen and save it as a BMP file in the “My Pictures” folder.

When to take a screen shot on a ThinkPad

Whether you’re trying to show someone a software error or you simply want to save a picture of your desktop, taking a screenshot is always useful. On ThinkPads, this can be accomplished in a few different ways.

To take a screenshot of the entire screen:

  2. As with taking a screenshot of the whole screen, your screenshot will now be saved to your clipboard and can be pasted into an image editor by pressing Ctrl + V.

How to edit a screenshot on a ThinkPad

If you want to edit a screen shot on your ThinkPad, there are a few different ways you can do it. You can use the Snipping Tool, which is a built-in Windows tool, or you can use a third-party program like Paint.net or GIMP.

Here’s how to edit a screenshot on a ThinkPad using the Snipping Tool:

  1. Press the Windows key + S to open the Search bar.
  2. Type in “snipping tool” and press Enter.
  3. Click on the Snipping Tool icon to launch the program.

How to share a screenshot on a ThinkPad

How to take a screenshot on a ThinkPad with Windows

There are several ways to take a screenshot on your ThinkPad running Windows. The most common way is to press the Print Screen key, which is usually located in the upper-right corner of the keyboard. This will take a screenshot of your entire screen and copy it to the clipboard.

If you only want to take a screenshot of a portion of your screen, you can use the Snipping Tool. To find this program, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool. With Snipping Tool, you can select the area of your screen that you want to capture.

Another way to take a screenshot is to press the Windows+PrtScr keys simultaneously. This will save a screenshot as a PNG file in your Pictures folder.

How to take a screenshot on a ThinkPad with macOS

To take a screenshot on a ThinkPad with macOS, simply press “Command + Shift + 3”.

How to take a screenshot on a ThinkPad with Linux

On most ThinkPads, you can capture a screenshot by pressing the “Print Screen” button. On a few models, however, you must press the “Fn” key along with the “Print Screen” button.

Once you’ve taken the screenshot, it will be saved in your default screenshots directory. On Ubuntu, this is usually the “Pictures” folder in your home directory.
