OpenAI’s GPT-4 has just been updated with new beta features. Thanks to these updated features, Chat GPT plus users can now upload files like PDF, code files and document files to GPT-4 and analyze them by asking several prompt questions. ChatGPT plus users will also get “All Tools” mode feature. By selecting “All Tools,” they can now use tools like DALL-E and Advanced Data Analysis without having to switch manually between different modes. This will make it easier and more convenient to use ChatGPT as users no longer have to remember which mode they need to be in to use a particular tool.

G7 Countries to form Code of Conduct for AI Development

Group of seven most developed and industrialized countries in the world, also known as G7 countries, are all set to come out with code of conduct for companies working on AI projects. There are likely to be total 11 points in this code of conduct that will lay out the safety measures to mitigate the risk associated with AI. However, there is not much information available about what these codes of conducts are going to be. Nonetheless, it will set the ball rolling for global AI regulation and take decisive step in safeguarding the world against AI. The G7 countries include the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Japan United Kingdom and European Union.

Instagram Threads is working on API for developers

Instagram head Adam Mosseri has confirmed that Threads is working on an API for developers. He also added that Instagram is currently looking for feedback from developers on what features they would like to see included in the API. This is exciting news, as it will allow third-party developers to build new and innovative features for the platform. However, Mosseri refused to give an exact timeline when Threads AI will be launched. Threads is steadily adding new features to compete with Elon Musk’s X and having an API will give a further competitive advantage to the platform. Threads recently claimed that it reached 100 million monthly active users.

OpenAI forms a new team to examine dangerous AI Risk including Nuclear Threat

ChatGPT creator OpenAI has formed a dedicated team to study and probe some of the most catastrophic risks that might arise due to artificial intelligence. This team will be called ‘preparedness’ and it will include some of the brightest minds and renowned names in the tech and AI industry. The Preparedness team is an important step in OpenAI’s efforts to ensure that AI is developed and used safely. In order to mitigate the risk posed by AI, the Preparedness team may develop new algorithms that are more resistant to adversarial manipulation. It may also work with policymakers to develop regulations that promote the safe development and use of AI.

Google paid $26 billion for Default Search Engine Status

Google paid whopping $26.3 billion in 2021 to other companies to be the default search engine on web browsers and mobile phones. This has been revealed by the ongoing anti-trust trial against the search giant. Google has argued that these payments are necessary to maintain its market share and that they are in the best interests of consumers. According to reports, Google’s payments to maintain its default status have been increasing over time. In 2014, the company paid $7.1 billion for default status. This means that its payments have nearly quadrupled in the past eight years.
