Faasos’ Parent Firm Scoops up $125 Mn from Goldman Sachs, GoJek & Others

Rebel foods will use the latest capital infusion for expansion purposes, especially in the international markets. Bloomberg report claims that Fasoos’ parent company is planning to ramp up operations in Southeast Asia and Middle East. It will form a strategic partnership with GoJek to consolidate its position in the Southeast Asian market. Both players are planning to set up 100 cloud kitchens to cook wide-range of dishes that are immensely popular with Indonesian and Southeast Asian population.

Rebel foods also plans to create 20 cloud kitchens in the UAE as part of its Middle East expansion plan. This will be probably done by the end of 2019.

Rebel foods – a restaurant company that is like unlike any other

If Rebel foods calls itself the world’s largest internet restaurant company then there is a good reason for it. After all, currently there are not many food companies around that can serve dozens of menus – from appetizing Italian pizzas to South Indian & North Indian main courses – to food lovers.

Rebel foods serves such wide-ranging food through its numerous cloud kitchen restaurant brands spread across different parts of the country. Below is the list of cloud kitchen restaurant brands owned by the company.

  • Faasos:
  • Oven Story:
  • Lunch Box:
  • Behrouz:
  • Mandarin Oak:
  • Keetle & Kegs:
  • The Good Bowl:
  • Slay:
  • Navarasam:
  • Firangi bake:

But Faasos by far is the most popular brand that the company owns. The Mumbai based firm currently operates wide-spread network of 235 cloud kitchen network across 20 Indian cities. This well spread out network helps the company to clock nearly 2 Mn orders every month.

Taking cue from Rebel foods’ cloud kitchen strategy, today every well-known food company is lapping up the cloud kitchen model in a big way. Be it the foodtech majors like Swiggy or Zomato and even Hospitality majors like Oyo rooms.
