TikTok’s parent company ByteDance has announced that it has acquired virtual reality handset maker Pico. This marks ByteDance’s maiden foray into the virtual reality space and will potentially pit the Chinese company against Facebook’s Oculus VR. However, the company still hasn’t disclosed the financial details of the deal. ByteDance’s latest acquisition is seen part of its ongoing effort to diversify its business. In March this year, the Chinese company had acquired the gaming studio called Moonton for nearly $4Bn.

Apple’s iphone 13 may support Satellite Connectivity

The Iphone 13’s much awaited impending launch has now coincided with rumors that is making Iphone fans pretty excited. According to grapevines, Iphone 13 will have inbuilt features that will allow users to make satellite calls. This means that Iphone 13 customers can make calls and send messages even in remote areas that suffer from low connectivity. Notably, satellite phones don’t use terrestrial towers but LEO satellites to place calls. If this rumors have any semblance of truth then iphone 13 will set a new benchmark in the mobile phone industry.

It now open secret that Jack Dorsey is a big fanboy of cryptocurrencies. Only last month, Dorsey’s fintech startup Square had announced a new Bitcoin centric division called TBD. Back then no one quite knew what exactly TBD was but today it has been revealed that TBD will be actually sort of decentralized exchange. China is going after websites and social media accounts that bad mouth about its economy

China has said that it will take stern actions against websites and spread malicious information about its economy. The China’s regulatory body, the cyberspace administration of China, has said that it will ask such websites to take down the content or else arbitrarily taken down. Reports in China will claim that websites and online news portal that are influenced by the foreign media has especially been zeroed down. The latest action is been largely seen as part of China’s ongoing crackdown against tech companies.
