Tech startup Goodmeetings, which defines itself as a remote sales platform, announced on Friday that it has raised $1.7 Mn in a Pre-series A funding round. The announcement of Pre-series A round implies that the startup has raised a seed funding round, which probably wasn’t officially announced by the company.
Chiratae Ventures spearheaded the pre-series A funding round while the slew of other investment firms have also poured capital in the round. The other firms that participated in this round includes the likes of FortyTwo.VC, First Check, Adept Ventures, 100X Entrepreneurs, and Atrium Angels.
The funding round has also seen participation from some of the biggest personalities and names from the Indian startup industry. The names of these HNIs reads as follows: Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Founder & CEO, Paytm), Kunal Shah (Founder & CEO, CRED), Sujeet Kumar (Founder & CEO, Udaan), Manish Maheshwari (MD, Twitter India), Piyush Shah (Co-Founder, Inmobi Group), Krishna Kumar (Founder and CEO, Simplilearn), Raghunandan (Founder and CEO, Zolve, founder TaxiForSure), and Sandeep Daga (CFO, Nestaway).
Srinivasan Narayan, Co-Founder & CEO of Goodmeetings, said that the company will use the proceedings to ramp-up its technologies and scale up its presence in the U.S market.
“Just like IT professionals have enjoyed work from home privileges over the last decade, the pandemic has brought the moment of reckoning for functions like sales that no one earlier believed could be done remotely. Our platform will truly make this privilege accessible to sales teams by increasing their effectiveness more than offline meetings. Using AI & video analytics, we shall empower the sales teams to sell more effectively from the comfort of their homes so that geography doesn’t stand between a great salesperson and his/her dream job”, said Narayan.
It must be noted that Srinivasan had earlier founded product management community startup Cohort Plus. Cohort Plus was acqui-hired by edtech major and newly crowned upGrad in 2019.
Goodmeetings is essentially an AI and data analytics backed platform that apparently helps sales team to perform 10X better on video calls.
