Apple pauses work on IOS 18 & macOS 15 updates

Apple has reportedly paused work on iOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11 updates. The company has taken this step because it wants to focus on fixing bugs and improving software quality. According to a report from Bloomberg News, Apple engineers discovered an “abnormal number of bugs” in early versions of IOS 18 and macOS 15. It is unclear when Apple will resume work on new features. However, the company is expected to release these updates sometime in 2024. In recent years, the company has been criticized for releasing software updates that contain bugs and performance issues. This has led to frustration among users and has damaged Apple’s reputation.

Microsoft is introducing AI characters to Xbox

Microsoft has partnered with AI startup Inworld AI to develop new tools for Xbox game developers that will allow them to create more immersive and engaging experiences using AI. Xbox developers will basically get two main tools under this tool set. First is the ‘AI design copilot,’ which will help developers to create detailed scripts, dialogue trees, and quest lines. It will also be able to generate random quests and even write detailed scripts for NPCs. Second is the ‘AI character engine,’ that will be able to dynamically generate stories, quests, and dialogues. It will be interesting to see how helpful these AI tools will prove to be for the Xbox developers.

Nintendo to work on live-action Zelda movie

 

There is good news for Zelda fans Nintendo has officially confirmed that a live-action movie based on their popular video game franchise “The Legend of Zelda” is in development. The film will be directed by Wes Ball, who is best known for the Maze Runner trilogy. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Marvel Studios founder Avi Arad will serve as producers. No plot details have been released yet, but the film is expected to be a big-budget adaptation of the popular video game series. The film will be jointly co-produced by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment. The movie is expected to be released in theatres sometime in 2025.

Google Photos ‘Magic Editor’ won’t edit human faces, body parts & more

 

Google’s ‘Magic editor,’ which harnesses the power of generative AI, is now available on Google photo app in Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 pro. However, Magic editor will come with many restrictions to ensure that it won’t be abused and used for unethical purposes.  For instance, Magic editor won’t edit Photos of ID cards, receipts, and other documents that violate Google’s GenAI terms. It will also refuse to edit human faces and body parts as well as images with personally identifiable information. Magic editor was first unveiled at Google I/O 2023 as an AI powered editing tool that can easily enhance the quality of your photos.
