If you are a gadget freak and very particular about the detailed specifications of any gadget you buy then a web service might prove quite useful to you.It’s Spectackler

It’s quite a simplified way to compare specifications of consumer electronics such as laptop,DVD player,headphones and similar stuff before making a purchase.But the feature that makes it unique is its ‘Efficient filtering’.You are provided with some sliders and check boxes with respective parameters on the left panel to modify your search results according to your needs.  

For instance,if you are comparing specs for laptops then it will take hardly few seconds for you to narrow down your search results to an extent where you will only be shown laptops satisfying your desired parameters(such as brands,processor, RAM,Hard Disk,Screen size,color,price,accessories etc).

And when the user has narrowed down his choice,he can view a single page comparison of all his narrowed down choices.If he still can’t decide,he can save his search and refer it later or send it to a friend.

Spectacklar is using Amazon AWS in bringing all the listings to its site.The entire system seems quite ajaxised(ajax being heavily used) which makes the user experience more pleasing.

In near future,Spectacklar expects to incorporate more data sources (currently its only Amazon). Also they are looking at white labelling the user interface for use by other stores. 

It would be a better utility if Spectacklar could also suggest the customers about what’s the ‘best deal’ out of the available options after fitering down to few results,something what Shopnics(covered by us earlier) has been doing as it really helps customers in deciding what to buy and what to ignore.
