Jio to introduce High Speed Optical Fiber network with a capability of providing speed upto 1 Gbps

Reliance Jio has now become an extremely common name among the masses. Reliance Jio, a successful venture started by Mr Mukesh Ambani became popular in a matter of no time because of its 4G services offered to the consumers. Moreover, all the data services offered by Reliance Jio were initially given at an absolutely no cost to any user having an access to a 4G phone and a valid Aadhar card.

After giving 4G(along with Calls and SMS) services to its users at no cost for about seven months, Jio is back with yet another top-notch service. After a successful business policy of rolling a preview offer first and then launching the main service, Reliance Jio has launched a preview offer of Fiber-to-the-Home(FTTH) broadband service in certain areas of Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Jamnagar, Surat, Ahmedabad and Vadodara. The full-blown service will be launched gradually in all the cities.

FTTH, also known as Fiber to the Home or Fiber to the premises service is basically a scheme of installing an optical fiber which reaches from a main, pivotal hub to residences and offices to offer blazing fast Internet.

Theoretical rumours incline towards the fact that the minimum speed of the new optical fiber service would be around 100 Megabits Per Second and wound escalate to a whooping 1 Giga bit Per Second. Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries Chairman has announced that Reliance Jio which has an investment of over Rs. 150,000 crores behind its force, will invest more to expand its currently set network which eventually would improve the speed.

Fiber optic network of Jio will be commercially rolled out by June 2017 which would most likely cover about 70% of India and targets to cover entire India by the end of 2018. Along with the high-speed broadband network, Reliance Jio is also going to launch DTH and Smart TV set-up boxes. It has also planned for a collaboration with AirWire to offer Connected Car IoT devices.

The service is going to be free for three months. Users will be getting a speed of around 100 Mbps. The work of installation which began a few months has been completely done.

So are you excited to witness this revolution in the never ending race of high-speed internet data connection?
