Power goes Facebook’s way : To use Facebook Connect from late January
Few days back, tech blogs were shouting out news of Facebook sueing social network aggregator Power.com as it was violating Facebook’s terms of use, copyright and trademarks. To be more specific, the conflict was more concerned to User credentials storage on Power.com servers.
Facebook was in month long talks with Power.com on this issue and wanted ‘Facebook Connect’ to be used instead of current way of Facebook’s access through Power.com but it all finally ended in sueing of Power.com as no mutual conclusion could be developed between the two parties.
In reaction to the suit filed against Power.com,the access to Facebook had been immediately removed but now things are looking settled and sorted.Looks like Power.com,being unable to find a replacement for Facebook, has finally agreed to implement ‘Facebook Connect’ within the site.
It has just announced to introduce a ‘new’ version of Power with ‘Facebook Connect’ by the end of this month. This should also mean lawsuit dissolution against Power.com as the main condition proposed by Facebook is satisfied in all respects now.

This action has also cleared Facebook’s intentions about its use and access in any sense by any third party.Earlier,it blocked ‘Google Friend Connect’ from accessing Facebook accounts and now Power. This and every such incident definitely counts when it comes to competing for “Online identity control” against ‘Friend Connect’ and Myspace.
