Chinese Gmail Users Reporting Problems. Google Blaming Chinese Authorities

Google is under external threat once again after facing highly sophisticated hacking attacks on certain Gmail users back in January last year.

Google’s Gmail system is not functioning properly for plenty of Chinese users but Google is claiming that there is no technical glitch from their end and the problems are externally induced.

“Relating to Google there is no issue on our side. We have checked extensively. This is a government blockage carefully designed to look like the problem is with Gmail,” quoted a Google spokesperson.

In other words, it’s the Chinese authorities that are responsible for stealthily altering and blocking Gmail in such a sophisticated manner that it is appearing to the end users that Gmail is coming across technical problems, quotes Google.

As per the reports coming out, quantifiable Gmail users from China are reporting difficulty in sending messages, marking messages as unread and using some other Gmail features. And Google says that the whole thing could very well be politically motivated as Gmail issues appear to be targeted to a set of users, who could probably be associated with Jasmine revolution in some way.

As per recent news reports, Chinese authorities cracked down and arrested several Social activists last month, in wake of a proposed ‘Jasmine revolution’ to be triggered and executed through Internet. So, these issues could well be associated with crack down on Chinese users.
