This marketplace has been primarily targeted to Google’s massive existant userbase of 25 Million users who already use Google Apps, among which, there are more than 2 million businesses, both small and large scale. More than 50 companies have partnered with Google by launching their enterprise applications at Google App Marketplace.

Below are the companies that have launched their enterprise applications at Google Apps Marketplace.

This has opened up the golden floodgates for thousands of third-party developers, who will now be able to sell their Enterprise level application(s) to tens of millions of Google Apps users.

Many of the third party applications in Google Apps Marketplace are free and several others are paid. The end users can choose to add any of the desired app to their existant suite of cloud apps (including Google Apps) and start using it with their domain right away. Due to tight integration of third party apps with Google Apps, external apps also make use of native Google app functionality such as Gmail and Gtalk.

But its not just users but largely developer community, which will be attracted towards this opportunity. As there is just a one-time fee of $100 for inclusion of any third party developer into this program(for developing and selling any number of apps) and Google takes a meagre 20% and leaves wholesome 80% for the app developer, its a great money making opportunity from developer’s standpoint.

Analyzing this announcement from another end, the step seems to be a strategic step from Google towards building a Cloud App Store for Chrome OS.

As Google’s Chrome OS is a Cloud based OS, a cloud app store for third party applications, along with Google’s native web applications, makes perfect sense. And that would also allow Google to package Chrome OS along with a rich App store, quite similar to what Apple does with its iPhone App Store.

For now, what Google is eyeing for is to lure as many developers as it can, for developing rich enterprise level applications and sell them through their marketplace. Developers, you better grab the chance early!

1. Check you Broadband Speed

First check what broadband speed is quoted with your broadband package, this is usually quoted in Megs, Mgs or Mbps. Then test you broadband speed here to see if your getting what you paid for and if not take contact your Broadband Provider.

2. Go Wireless

To maximize your broadband speed use a wireless router as using cable to connect to the Internet could be slowing you down especially if it’s a long cable.

3. Limited Users

How many people are trying to use your internet connection? Make sure no one is freeloading on your Wireless Connection by making it Secure (i.e. you need a password to access it).

4. Clean up your Browser

If you use the internet a lot then you could be storing up a large number of Cookies, Cached Websites and Temporary Files in your browser. Make sure you clear these on a regular basis. To do this in Mozilla FireFox go to Tools and then Clear Recent History.

5. How far are you from your Exchange

Check out how far your home is from the Broadband Exchange as this is one of the main things that cause the speed of an ADSL connection to degenerate. Any greater than 6km away and you could have problems and you may need to consider becoming a cable user as Cable Broadband is not affected by this.

6. Download Off Peak

While it’s not always possible to surf during off peak periods, if you have a big download to do then consider scheduling it during off peak times as this will reduce the time it takes to download that file considerably.

7. One web page at a time

Broadband Speeds tend to slow up if you have multiple browser tabs with multiple websites open so if you are still having problems then just view one web page at a time in one browser tab.

8. Upgrade/Switch Broadband

If you’re still having problems then you should speak to your ISP and consider either upgrading your Broadband Package or switching Broadband Providers.

The advent of virtualization, a concept that defies One server, One application convention, has enabled IT administrators to minimize hardware and maintenance overhead expenses by running multiple operating systems & multiple applications over the OSes simultaneously, using the same physical hardware, sharing same hardware resources among virtual machines.

And similar to Cloud Computing, Virtualization too holds the key to the future of IT infrastructure at enterprise scale.

VMWare, a reputed name in the field of virtualization is persistently, one of the most preferred option by enterprises for virtualizing their IT infrastructure.

And as every growing field opens the floodgates of opportunity for employment, becoming a professional in virtualization is surely a safe bet for IT administrators and other aspirants looking for a fruitful career in next generation IT industry.

For those who’re good at self-learning from multimedia material, there are plenty of options available on the web for quality VMware training courses.

One of the notable online IT training providers, Train Signal, offers a wide variety of multimedia material, serving all those aspirants who want to learn about a particular IT domain and interested in acquiring some industry endorsed certification within their domain or multiple domains. So, one can go for Trainsignal VMware Training and their custom-made, high-quality multimedia material. One can also take a look at some of their specialized VMware training courses for getting straight to one of the most qualitative of the courses available on Train Signal for VMware.

As industry gives default preference to those professionals who aren’t just skilled but certified as well, VMware Testing certification is something that has to be acquired, in order to secure a reputed job in virtualization industry.

In the end, one has to agree that IT industry is ever-changing and new technologies will keep on outdating the predecessor ones and the only way for persistent survival in this dynamic industry is to keep embracing yourself with upcoming technologies, the sooner, the better.

Deadpooling happens either due to the technical incapabilities of the tech guy, inspite of an innovative idea to work upon, or because of a poor decision maker/idea guy, inspite of a superbly talented geek at work.

As it’s always better to learn from other’s mistakes, if you happen to be a geek, seeking an entrepreneur to work together and materialize his idea or an entrepreneur, who has an idea but lacks a tech guy to bring it into life, then you’ve just got a budding place to look forward to, Techcofounder.com

Techcofounder is a website that aims to create a common marketplace for two counterparts of any startup, geeks/coders and entrepreneurs. It rather gives more control to the coders by letting entrepreneurs pitch their ideas, straight to the geek fraternity at Techcofounder and letting coders decide which idea to start working over.

Coders list basic profile information such as location, technical skillset, education and experience, which helps entrepreneurs figure out the right ones to pitch their idea to.

And if you are possibly a coder, working on contractual basis through sites like Rentacoder.com, elance.com or freelancer.com, you ought to give Techcofounder.com a try as you might just be unaware of the real worth of your tech skills.

Entrepreneurs can obviously look out for capable tech geeks over at Techcofounder and approach anyone who fits the required skillset.

Go, give Techcofounder a try !

With latest Social Media frenzy, propelled by Youtube, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter etc, it’s evident that all of us love socializing on web and almost addicted to sharing stuff on web.

And we’re sharing almost everything on web today. From family photos to touring videos to anything else that we feel worth sharing amongst our friends. But it often happens that the photos we share describe some event, incident, basically a story and mere uploading of pictures doesn’t feel enough to us and leaves those moments undescribed.

If that’s exactly what you miss when you share your photos on web, you’ve just got a disprin right here..Meet YouTellYou

YouTellYou is a Crowd-sourced Photo-story magazine where users can create and publish Photo-stories(stories described with Photos and text) within no time, by either importing photos from Facebook, Flickr or Smugmug accounts or directly uploading them on YouTellYou from the desktop itself.

The website takes the user through a simplified UI wherein user keeps importing/uploading photos and adds associated text with the photo to describe different parts of the whole story or event. At the end, one gets a final result in the form of a sequentially organized webpage that describes the whole story with pics and text.

As most of the times, we click mutiple pics of any event, say party, excursion, adventure tour, family events etc, you will find it lot more fun, sharing a easy-to-produce webpage that ties together all the pics along with explanatory text and describes the whole story.

Let’s talk about our worrying concerns with YouTellYou now. The primary motive of sharing personal photos on the web is to share memories with friends. That’s the reason why social networks account for majority of online photo sharing today. Now, YouTellYou is a standalone service(not a social network) which has to be used explicitly, for creating Photo-stories. We think, it could be much comfortable for users if users could have YouTellYou application on Facebook itself (and other social networks as well) rather than using YouTellYou separately for generating Photo-stories and sharing them afterwards.

As it’s basically about Photos and stories, YouTellYou can also come up with an iPhone or Android app, enabling users to take the pics via mobile phone, add little complementary text and generate an instant Photo-story, ready to be shared among family and friends.

Just like YouTellYou, there are plenty of web services that do creative stuff with Photos such as Youtego, which we recently reviewed(that’s a whole interest-based social network using photos) but the biggest challenge for them lies in gathering the initial userbase(the biggest reward), to capitalize further with more ease.

With a considerable userbase, YouTellYou could do a lot more creative stuff, for instance, associating people having a similar photo-story, and stuff like that. They probably need to introduce more features for involving and engaging users in a better manner.

We loved different ways that YouTellYou offers, for generating Photo-stories, especially via mobile phone and email. Catch up with this introductory video about YouTellYou for more info.

Go, give YouTellYou a shot !

For the first time, i saw anonymous folks begging a Wave invitation(It’s an Invite-only service till date) from me, solely for satisfying their curiosity for trying out Google Wave, all because of the surplus (probably non-deserving) hype around this sophisticated Google product. As it was perceived as a hyper-futuristic product, the curiosity for trying out atleast once, appeared justified as well.

And then, it all just died. All that hype vanished and just about everyone went silent.

Reason ? Google Wave failed to live up to the hype it created all over.

Why ? As the tech pundits rightly guessed, It arrived at the wrong time. It was just too forward, too sophisticated and too difficult for an average netizen to adapt to. Even an introductory video of Google Wave (Over 80 Mins) was lengthy enough to take you to sound sleep.

Now, if Google found it challenging to explain it to tech geeks, one can imagine the state of all those excited but average internet consumers.

Still, Google Wave isn’t doomed yet. It’s ON and still holds the key for Google to futuristic communication on the web. One must remember that Google Wave failed to persist mainly because of being futuristic and sophisticated, rather than inferior quality or useless.

Yesterday, we saw another product launch by Google, the Google Buzz.

Being honest, i felt disappointed with Google, launching another product with similar flavor and goals, as a different identity. I expected innovation, not repetition and overlapping with its own existing services.

In their own words,

“Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting [...] an easy-to-use sharing experience…”

In my opinion,

Google Buzz is partly Orkut, partly Google Wave, built right into Gmail.

If Google buzz is about starting conversations, sharing photos, videos, commenting etc etc, its a Social network but then, Google is already running Orkut, an existent Social network powered by Google.

And if its about real-time commenting and sharing among gmail contacts, its a subset of Google Wave, a service that serves much more than real-time commenting, content sharing and similar stuff.

Another assertion of mine is that Google Buzz should have launched months before Google Wave, or Google Wave should have launched months after Google Buzz. As MG Siegler from TC has already done the efforts to describe my assertion, skeptics better go check that out as well.

Now that Google committed a mistake by launching Wave at the wrong time, Buzz could be the best possible contingency plan for Wave’s lifeguarding, if Google has to save Wave from fading away.

Google Buzz is easy-to-use, built right into Gmail and would most likely be appreciated and adapted by over 175 million gmail users and this would help Gmail users, making a smooth transition to Google Wave at some later stage.

This is purely an analytical assertion at the moment and the time can only tell if this is the chalked-out plan that Google has, in the back of its mind.

On the flip side, we strongly suspect that Orkut’s fate would go in Danger Zone if Google Buzz hits the right chord. Since Google acquired Orkut, Orkut has miserably failed in expanding within U.S. and European continent and has been a non-profitable asset for Google since then.

For now, Google Buzz is bound to buzz up ubiquitously and our guess is that Google Buzz will sail through.

It brings nothing less than tons of shame to the IT Giant that consults/sells enterprise solutions to other companies(both indian and foreign) for security and all other facets of IT.

If you would pay a visit to the homepage of TCS right now then you would see the message shown below…

The message has been written in “french” and the email id highlights “uk” as the native country of the hacker. It looks certain that the hacker(or the whole group) is least probable to be british(“uk” is just to disguise the site visitors). It could still be french in my opinion.

Some significant points to note here….

As Careers page of TCS official is very much active, there’s no ambiguity that its a pure DNS hack(for more on DNS, go here)

If you carefully look at the DNS redirection(reload the site and keep staring at the bottom of your browser), you can figure out that TCS.com is being hijacked to Pactole.com. (having the same redirection page)

Now “Pactole” is a french word (that means “bonanza” by the way) which increases the possibility of this hack from some french group. The server hosting Pactole.com is also located in france itself(Aubervilliers, France)

Generally, any such hacker groups love flaunting their abilities by explicitly posting their group codename on the hacked site(remember twitter hack, techcrunch hack) but this hacker/group seems to be a little shy in their approach.

Rather than posting any offensive message on the redirected page, the hacker has choosen to flash a “Domain For Sale” message. This indicates that the hack attempt is more of casual and has not been attempted out of frustration or anything of that sort. There might be some french guy having wild fun on sundays, that’s it !

Looking at the reputation of TCS, it is an unbelievably lame retaliation from the Indian IT Giant in handling their own hack. It’s well over 5 hours and the the site has still not been recovered.

We will update as and when the site gets back on track !

Update : TCS Site is up and running now. Just to explore things a little more, we sent a mail to the mail id mentioned on the redirected page(hacked one) and we also got a reply from the hacker.

I am a poor person can not find work
If you really paid the amount $….,I swear to you that leave you and your business and I will protect your domain from hacker hack.

Sami

After getting the reply, we traced back the email and it is confirmed that the email originated from Algeria, (not france). Hence, it’s confirmed that this hack attempt was done by some algerian hacker.

Anyways, the issue is over and things are at peace.

We can do almost everything online. From filing tax returns to paying mobile phone bills, from booking advance train/flight/movie tickets to doing business communication, internet is an all-purpose solution to getting things done today.

Considering the last five years or so, any netizen would admit to being regular(or addicted) to some social networking site(Facebook?) or the other(regional sites). Nowadays, most of us prefer socializing virtually than actually.

But many of us silently complain about the Social Networking Fatigue that most of us are afflicted with. In simple words, we are so much into this Online socializing thing that we just need a break from it.

We need to get back to the basics. We need to socialize…..but Actually, not just virtually.

And today, we have got a website that’s purposely meant to help you Socialize actually(rather than virtually).

Meet CribSocial. (i am glad that it’s not a JASN (Just Another Social Network)

Cribsocial is a website that’s meant to serve one single purpose…Helping you find local buddies to actually(not virtually) socialize with.

For instance, you might be seeking a partner to catch a movie in a theatre, struggling for a partner to join you on the dance floor, missing your cousin on the pool table or just want to have a cup of coffee outside your home with anyone who is locally available and equally interested in the concerned activity. But it’s just too hard for you to pair up with that “locally available” and “equally interested” guy/girl for socializing in real sense.

If that’s the case with you then you badly need Cribsocial.

CribSocial asks for the bare minimum details about you, your location, interests, profession etc and helps you locate folks near your residence who’re also seeking a companion for similar activity.

CribSocial’s future growth depends largely on heavy duty marketing efforts as it’s not a typical social network where friends attract friends(known). But once grown to a decent extent, the fruits may be well worth it.

CribSocial is currently open for U.S. audience only so if you’re a U.S. resident, you must check out Cribsocial and see if you’ve got any nearby guy who’s there to give you a company, whenever needed.
