Apple(and not AT&T) sued over “Unrealistic 3G speed claims”
Jason Medway,a resident of California has filed a 14-page complaint in a Northern California court against Apple, representing not only him but thousands of other California customers who purchased iPhone3G last year.
According to Medway’s claims, the latest version of iPhone called iPhone3G has a defect which doesn’t let the the Apple’s smartphone users, get consistent 3G speed.Medway also highlights the fact that Apple is well aware of the problem as thousands of folks have repeatedly complained regarding the inconsistent high-speed connectivity but Apple has not taken any responsible action to address the problem and has been whole heartedly advertising the 3G speed in its ad campaigns with no regard to the issues reported by its customers.
Through this elegation,Medway’s attorneys are looking for big damages(in excess of $5 Million) from Apple. But such elegations haven’t been new to Apple.Earlier, many customers complained regarding same ‘poor 3G performance’ and inability to change their service provider(AT&T in iPhone’s case) as well.
But logically, the problem seems more to be lying on AT&T’s part because ‘Inconsistent 3G connectivity’ can most possibly be a direct consequence of overburdened network and AT&T is responsible to take care of any such network inefficiency.
As far as inherent defect in iPhone3G is concerned, any phone with 3G support(iPhone3G,G1,N97…) is tested several times, both in ‘controlled’ as well as ‘real time’ environment before getting ’3G support’ validity and therefore, the possibility of iPhone, possesing an inherent defect is very less.

I got an iPhone 3G as a gift from my best friend. This phone is the best phone that i ever had, great style and great features. I luv my iPhone 3G.
